Improving Your Site’s Search Engine Rankings

by ISEadmin on April 24, 2010

Millions, not thousands, of web business owers are not happy with their Internet traffic statistics.  They don’t understand why pages on their website don’t rank higher in Google, particularly when they discover sites of their competition ranking higher — competitors that they know often have inferior products or offer customers poor service.

What most domain name owners don’t realize is that websites are not “Field of Dreams” projects.  Have you ever seen that Kevin Costner movie, “Field of Dreams,” where a baseball field was built in a corn field, with the belief that “if you build it they will come” (meaning the fans will come)?  If you’ve seen the movie you know that the baseball field was built, and boy did people come.  In fact, tourist still come by the droves to see the baseball field in the movie, despite the movie being made in 1989 (boy how time flies!).  The real baseball field in the movie is located on Lansing Road in Dyersville, Indiana and it’s quite a tourist attraction.  In other words, it was built, and people not only came (as in the movie), but they still come.

Although this concept of generating traffic might play out well in the movies, it doesn’t work that way with websites and Internet search engines.  Instead, there’s a new boss in town when it comes to web traffic, and that boss is “regular content additions.”  Not just any content, but unique content.  In other words, no copying and pasting, regardless the website or the subject.  If you want your site to rank high in Google, there are many rules to follow, but one very important one is to have fresh unique content added often.

And why wouldn’t you want this?  In the real brick and mortar world you spend advertising dollars and do all sorts of things to increase your business.  What would happen to your brick and mortar business if you simply did nothing?  Would business start slowing down and eventually die, or would it continue growing?

From this hypothetical question I hope you can glean where I’m going with this issue, namely you need to take pride in your online business and treat it with attention regularly, the same way you do your offline business.  If you don’t, you’ve simply created nothing more than a few placeholder pages that will keep on rocking along with search engine rankings located so deep in the bowels of Google, Bing, Yahoo, Ask and other search engines that you won’t be seeing any growth in traffic.

I know what you’re thinking.  You’re thinking, “I don’t have the time to monitor my website regularly and add new content regularly.”  Well, that’s fine and you’re not necessarily expected to if you have the funds to hire an SEO professional, someone that can research your subject, come to understand your business, and regularly create quality pages about your business, written with all the SEO (search engine optimization) strategies in place that will not only drive your website to the top of search engine listings, but will drive your Internet traffic through the roof and increase sales to your business overall.

Okay, so that’s my pitch.  That’s why you do indeed need a professional SEO company like Internet SEO Experts to begin managing your website on a weekly basis.  For, if you want Google and other search engines to start ranking your website higher, you need to have fresh unique content added at least 2 times per week, and the content that is added needs to be written and crafted with high search engine placement in mind.  And that’s what we do for a living, that’s what we do best.

Why do firms like mine exist?  Because although most website owners will attempt to start creating fresh content for their websites, they quickly tire of the process and 2 articles or pages a week quickly becomes 1 per week, and then 1 per  month, and then 1 per quarter — and the next thing you know, they’re right back where they started.  Whereas know you’re business better than most, and do it well, we know the search engine optimization game better than most and we do it well.  For that reason, we exist to provide turnkey SEO and website development services to small and medium size businesses on a regular basis.
